God’s Will But My Choice by Timm Knight is an emotional urban drama about a 14-year-old boy named Tim Stewart on the cusp of adulthood trying to find his true self. Although Tim is good in academics, he feels the pressure of his run down Clarksville neighborhood to keep his thug like appearance up. He is constantly getting into trouble fighting in the streets but now wants to start a non-violent gang with his best friends.
However, is there any such thing as a non-violent gang?
Tim’s life is further complicated by his manipulative, and self-serving stepmother Sunny who’s goal seems to be to drive him and his father apart. While hanging out in the park one day, Tim and his friends confront Darius a extremely jealous school rival. Moreover, this encounter lets him know that danger is on the way. Tim has dreams of becoming a young, legit businessman, but with his foe getting in the way will his dreams ever come true?
Feeling overwhelmed and hopeless, Tim decides to make a change and takes off for the big city looking to start his life a new.
What he doesn’t see coming is that you can’t always leave the past behind. And his sudden acts of defiance will hurt those he loves the most. No matter how far Tim tries to run or what trouble he gets into God’s will is always stronger than his choices or is it?
God’s Will But My Choice is a gritty yet touching coming of age story about how the urban streets are changing the lives of young black boys soon to be young black men. In a story that’s both relatable and entertaining, readers will not soon forget this honest portrayal of the streets.

He has three friends with whom he started a “clean” street gang in hopes of making a difference. Everything starts off pretty well for him, but soon it is found out that one of his friends is involved in the ultimate betrayal…While Tim is focused on his plans to enter into the business world, he is also going through much conflict at home with his father’s new woman, Sunny. Sunny hates Tim, and the feeling is mutual as far as Tim is concerned. As a result, Tim’s father always feels that he has to choose between his woman and his son, but unbeknownst to both of them, Tim’s father is dealing with far more serious issues…
This story was very interesting. There were grammatical errors throughout, but it did not take away from the story itself. I am interested to see what happens next with Tim!

I'm 58 yrs old and I enjoyed this tremendously. It's very inciteful! I will encourage my teenage grandchildren to read
Can't wait for part two to this story. It was short but, a good read full with a lot of excitement.
I truly enjoyed reading this. The readers get to follow the main character, Tim, in his struggle to overcome his past and powering through his present struggles. He believes God is all powerful, but knows its up to him to get himself on the right path and make his own choices. Very provoking story, I loved it as a short Christian read but those interested in stories about modern issues in general will find it very inspiring and realistic.
